Just checking in..

We know things have been quiet lately on here, but we just want you to know that we are still fighting hard for Coco and working towards his justice. Things have been a little quiet on this end, but we are working behind the scenes to get all of our ducks in a row so that we can come out with guns blazing!(no pun intended!) We are still getting a great amount of support and that means so much to us. We know that Coco is looking down and smiling, knowing that so many people are flooding out support for him.
Our ultimate goal is to keep voicing our concerns for how Coco was killed and make people accountable for their actions. Right now it seems that everyone is covering for someone and no one wants to step up to the plate and take some blame. We are not going to back off of this. We know that we can not bring Coco back, but we sure can keep his memory alive and we can do everything in our power to make sure that something like this does not happen to another dog. We are also working on coming up with a type of rally where we can get supporters and pit bull lovers together in one location to talk about ways to help show that pit bulls are not the problem, and that it is the bad owners that have made so many people view them unfairly. At this rally we will make sure that our voices are heard! We are trying to make sure we have everything in order for this event, and when all the details are nailed down we will post a date and a location.
It is so crazy how so many people just sit around and bash pit bulls and talk about how bad of a dog/breed they are, but sitting in a courtroom the other day we heard how a standard poodle attacked a child! Isn't that crazy? So it isn't just pit bulls that have off days, it can be any breed of dog. We love the breed of pit bulls and we are setting a goal to eventually open a rescue specially designed for pit bulls who need to be re-homed due to circumstances beyond their control. Dogs are just like humans they just want someone to show them care and someone who will give them that unconditional love! We are doing our part, we just need more people that have the same thoughts and the same love for the breed to stand up and continue this fight with us.

  1. it is difficult to support you when it is ultimately your responsibility to keep your dog enclosed. others have questioned how secure your fence is and i do too? please describe or show how your fence was secure.

  2. "and make people accountable for their actions." WHO? You have no case. The cops did their job. They followed their protocal in the situation that they entered. You will not get anywhere trying to get the cops to be help accountable for because they didn't do anything wrong according to their protocal. If your neighbors moved your so called bricks to let you dog out, then they are the ones to go after. If you can't prove it, you have no case. I hate to be the voice of reality here, but you will not win anything. You simply have no case.

  3. I am sorry you feel that way, because we as well as many others do think that we have a case. What we have is pretty solid, and we even according to attorneys have shown enough doubt and raised enough questions for them to dig further. We have witnesses to things that occurred that night, the time-lines don't add up, and the officer was unavailable and out of town. There are plenty of things that we can not really discuss are being investigated. If protocol was followed we still would have our dog, and he would not have been shot. Look at the report, it doesn't add up!
We respect your opinion, you are entitled to it, but this isn't such a open/shut case. So as far as your voice of reality, its just your view. We do appreciate it though, sometimes its a good thing for us to see other sides of things. Have a good day!

  5. Regarding the last anonymous post: We are unable to respond to you, but if you would like to email us directly at cygor64@gmail.com we will be glad to show you pictures of our fence. I am trying to figure out how to put a folder on here so that you will be able to see it.
Regarding the fence: We were in the process of completing a concrete footer that has tie wire attached to the fence and into the concrete and cinder blocks in the places where there may be low spots. A dog could not get through all of that without some kind of help. That night the place where Coco got out, the blocks were REMOVED. Coco may have been strong but not strong enough to move the blocks and totally make them disappear. We looked that night for the blocks and the next day, they were no where to be found!
Since the shooting, a complete concrete footer surrounds our fence it has been inspected by Lee County Animal Control and a report has been sent to a Lee County Judge to show that we are responsible pet owners and that we have always done our best to secure our animals from harm. I hope this helps you out a little bit in order to see that our cause is worth fighting for.

  7. Keep the dog enclosed. The dog was a harmless, sweet little pup who wouldn't hurt a fly and the neighbors knew this. They teased the dog, tormented the dog and the family and their other pets. The police didn't appear interested in addressing the issues with the troublemaking neighbors. At any rate, the cop had no business shooting a family pet that hadn't bit or hurt anyone. It seems to me the neighbors were good liars and storytellers besides being a royal pain the butt, and maybe were somehow jealous of these nice people. The dog was loved very much and no one ever complained about him (I don't count anything these neighbors say or do. They taunted and teased the family and harrassed everyone in that house).
So the fence may have been tampered with by the neighbors when no one was around. As for the "Protocol" of the cops, that is a joke. Leaving a crudely written letter in Craig's List like it was written by some womanhating lowlife, showing not one ounce of feeling for this family and knowing they were harrassed, that is hardly protocol.
The man used the dog for target practice. In the state where this family lives, dogfighting videos are legal. That says it all. Crude,
unrefined, uncouth neighbors and cops are what this family had to deal with. I hope the poor little dog, who didn't deserve to die, gets justice.
